McKenzie has been described as one of the finest acoustic guitarists
playing on the UK live circuit today. Duncan's
former years have been well documented as a respected songwriter and has
secured major publishing deals with EMI and other notable labels. Through these years Duncan also became notable as one of the most versatile of session musicians playing guitar styles from Rock to Flamenco and in studios such as 'Abbey Road'. Duncan
has performed his music and songs frequently on international radio and
television and is now becoming a popular attraction at numerous festivals
with most recent appearances in Scotland at 'The Kirkmichael International
Guitar Festival', Ullapool Guitar Festival and The Highland Guitar
Festival (Scotland) plus international appearances at The Lugano 'Blues To
Bop Festival' (Switzerland) and the 'Arctic Blues Festival' (Norway). Duncan
has just completed his latest album entitled 'NEW LIFE'. An
album featuring some of his finest works including Blues, Ragtime, Celtic
instrumentals, Latin and Ballad. You are sure to be hearing a lot more of
Duncan McKenzie in the very near future. Also featured on the album is
fiddle player Mike Piggot (ex Pentangle). Forthcoming
tours will see Duncan performing more in Europe as he emerges as a new force in
acoustic music. Live,
Duncan is a dynamic artist
making full use of all available sound from both vocals and guitar. His
repertoire can be diverse featuring the timeless works of Bessie Smith,
Lonnie Johnson, Big Bill Broonzy, Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Taj Mahal,
Bob Dylan and Van Morrison. Hauntingly
beautiful ballads are also a Duncan McKenzie trademark often giving us a
feel of his ancestral Celtic roots. Recent
